Eighth Grade Writing Assessment

The results of the 2010 Eighth Grade Writing Assessment are now available. All score were sent home by the student on March 18, 2010.

The Eighth Grade Writing Assessment is administered to all eighth grade students in January.  The purpose of the assessment is to provide information to eighth grade students about their writing performance. This information can help students and their parents understand areas where students may need to focus their efforts to improve writing skills before taking the writing portion of the Georgia High School Graduation Test in their junior year.

7th Grade Happenings

ITBS/CogAT Testing has been completed.  7th grade students and parents can expect to see the results by November.  This test will give us an opportunity to see how our students compare academically with other 7th grade students throughout the country who have also taken this achievement and abilities tests.

We have begun Vision and Hearing Screening for all of our 7th grade students and also for 8th grade students who are new to Cobb County.  If a student is unable to pass the screening, a letter will be sent home to the parents letting them know the results.

What Is RTI?

Response To Intervention

Is a Tier process of implementing instructional and behavioral interventions designed to provide early effectice assistance to under performing students.

Interventions are implemented and frequent progress monitoring is conducted to assess student response and progress.  If students do not make progress more frequent monitoring is implemented.
